What people ask before they book
It depends on the lock, the hour and how far out you are — so you get a number on the phone, before anyone turns a key in the ignition. If the job turns out to be different from what you described, we stop and tell you before carrying on.
Rarely. The great majority of doors open with picks or a bypass and the lock keeps working afterwards. Drilling is reserved for locks that are already seized or damaged, and it never happens without your agreement and a price first.
We ask, and we check — a licence, a lease, a rates notice, anything that ties you to the address. It is a nuisance for about thirty seconds and it is the reason nobody can hire us to open your door.
Yes, and so does everyone. Nights, weekends and public holidays cost more than a weekday afternoon. What we do not do is quote you the daytime rate on the phone and produce the other one at the door.
Almost always, and it is usually a good deal cheaper. Rekeying keeps your existing hardware and simply changes which key opens it — ideal after a break-up, a lost set or a tenant moving out.
